Annabelle Selldorf is the director of Selldorf Architects, an internationally renowned architectural firm that she established in New York in 1988. Since then, the practice has developed a design approach that is deeply rooted in humanist principles. Consequently, her buildings truly come to life through the people who live in and use them.

Selldorf Architects specialises in complex cultural projects and has recently completed extension and refurbishment works at the Frick Collection, the National Gallery in London, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego. In May of this year, Selldorf Architects, in partnership with Studios Architecture, won the international competition for the Louvre Nouvelle Renaissance project. The project, the first major redevelopment of the Musée du Louvre in over forty years, involves creating a new entrance to the museum and a gallery dedicated to the Mona Lisa. Other current projects include a 4,650 m² extension to the Art Gallery of Ontario and the restoration of the Wallace Collection in London.
