Gloria Cabral

Biographical notes
Paraguayan/Brazilian architect, who was a partner at the architecture firm Gabinete de Arquitectura (2003/2020), where she worked for 17 years.
In 2014, Cabral was selected by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor as his protégé among professionals from around the world as part of the Rolex Arts Initiative 2014–2015. Her appointment emerged from a search conducted by the Swiss foundation among young talents worldwide.
She was responsible for the project of the Teleton Children's Rehabilitation Center, which in 2010 won first prize at the Pan-American Biennial in the Rehabilitation and Recycling category. In 2016, together with her partners, she received the Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale for Best Participation in the International Exhibition. In 2018, she was awarded the Moira Gemmill Prize, granted by The Architectural Review and The Architects’ Journal. She served on the jury for the award in 2024.
She received an Honorary Doctorate from the National University of Asunción in 2021. She was also awarded the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture 2021, organized by the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine (France).
She currently runs her studio in Laguna, in the state of Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil.
